Differences between stamping die and die-casting die
Update:02-12-2022
The mold design level and manufacturing process reflect a country's manufacturing level, as well as a country's ability to develop new products.
Stamping die: There are cold stamping die and hot stamping die. At room temperature, the stamping die is installed on the press or punch, and the material is stamped with their strong pressure to obtain the required shape of product parts. The precision of product parts is completely affected by the design structure and manufacturing process of the stamping die.
Die casting die: Die casting is a special product forming process. The metal liquid enters the cavity of the die casting die on the die casting die forging machine at low speed or high speed. As the metal liquid cools down slowly, the die casting die uses the movable cavity surface to press forge to produce product parts that meet the requirements without burrs.
Differences between stamping die and die-casting die:
1. The forming methods are different. The stamping die is generally shear forming, and the raw materials are pressed and sheared by a press. The die-casting die belongs to the forming die, which uses the metal liquid to fill the cavity of the die, and is formed by slowly applying pressure during the cooling process.
2. The operating objects are different. The stamping die is solid metal and the die-casting die is liquid metal.
3. Due to different specifications of operating objects, the size of product parts formed by stamping dies is generally small, while larger product parts can be produced by die-casting dies.
4. Due to different production costs, die-casting die products need additional processing, such as polishing and chrome plating. Therefore, the production cost is about 30% higher than that of the stamping die.
